Get To Know Me
I started my career at 17 years old as a car insurance administrator for KeyWest Insurance Services on a YT scheme in 1992. Since then, most of my working experience has been in 1st line administrational support and assistance to other office staff. I have extensive experience working under my own volition, but I consider myself a valuable team member and have received excellent feedback in the past from my colleagues about my conduct and professionalism.

In 1994 I started working in retail for family run video store Video World, and in 1996 I got a job working for global chain Blockbuster Video when they opened a brand-new store in my town. I started as a customer service representative, before I was promoted to assistant manager in 1999. I was also responsible for interviewing and hiring staff, and served as the team coach on the company Starmaker programme. Working with the public face to face helped me to shape my skills in providing excellent customer service, along with team leadership, problem solving, and cash/budget management.

In 2002, I took a break from work as I became a full time carer for my terminally ill father. After he passed away, I went travelling for a while and then I enrolled at South Cheshire College at the age of 29 in 2004 to study Performing Arts and Musical Theatre. I graduated with a triple distinction in 2006. The course taught me many valuable transferable skills, which I have utilised going forward. Additionally, I completed a year-long study in criminology at Open Study College where I examined the inner workings of the UK justice system. I also hold a GA Level 3 Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL).

I've worked in finance and logistics for Cheshire Constabulary, making sure the officers had all they needed to do their duties, and keeping inventory all necessary documents and equipment. The management of the office also asked me to design and give a teamwork and communication skills course for the police personnel. I worked for Poole Allcock Solicitors as a Receptionist and later also as an Administrator in Conveyancing, Wills and Probate, Crime, Family and Personal Injury departments. I also served as a voluntary member of the marketing team when the company was rebranding their image.

Whilst working at Fujitsu as a Receptionist/Administrator, I was honoured to be asked to take the lead role in the planning and organisation of CV & Interview Skills workshops as part of the Princes Trust 12 week programme for 16 to 25 year olds. This was part of our company’s social corporate responsibilities, and a voluntary position. It was my job to recruit other volunteers, prepare all paperwork, ensure rooms were booked for the interviews and that the day ran smoothly and to time. I also hosted the presentations when possible. I consistently solicited input from the students to improve the presentation and increase its usefulness for brand-new learners.

This experience was beneficial when I started my new role at Fujitsu as a Business Support Administrator. I was working on a technical financial internal program to consolidate multiple ERP systems across 39 Fujitsu European countries into “OneERP” using SAP S4/HANA. One of my main responsibilities was to plan, coordinate, and schedule numerous technical workshops across the UK, Germany, and India—sometimes several on the same day and running at the same time.

Working as an administrator for Change, Grow, Live (CGL), an organisation that deals with addiction and substance abuse issues was a challenging but rewarding role. The challenges often stem from the sensitive and complex nature of the work, as well as the diverse needs of the clients. Dealing with clients who are in highly emotional states and having to handle abusive behaviour, it was essential to stay composed and maintain my own emotional balance, and remembering that the client's emotional state was not a reflection of myself. It was important to show empathy by acknowledging their feelings. I had worked in a similar role at Air Products back in 2008 in the medical oxygen department. When customers on oxygen called in a panic because their equipment wasn't functioning properly, it was crucial to reassure them and to be calm as you walked them through the troubleshooting procedures to get it operating again.

You can listen to my voiceover work for radio commercials here on my website. I also presented on Youth FM and YFM in the early 90's and then The Cat in 2008 and 2009. As an actor, I have performed in three plays with the Nantwich Players, two of which were leading roles, two short films with the London Film School, a small part in The Treasure of Albion starring Todd Carty and Norman Lovett, and staff training videos with Ambit Media covering customer service and loss prevention for companies such as Boots, Staples and The Co-op. Additionally, in 2020, I wrote and self-published "Chaos Rains at Forty-Four," my debut semi-autobiographical book, which is available on Amazon.

I am proud to be a student at The Open University, where I am pursuing my own personal development through a BA (Hons) in Arts and Humanities (English and Creative Writing).

In my spare time, I enjoy gaming (PS5), reading, blogging, listening to music and podcasts, watching TV and films, creative writing, creating AI images and art, and spending time with my family and friends.
I am always willing to learn and gain knowledge in different industries, and I would like to utilise the skills I already possess to further progress in my own career.

I very much look forward to working with you.
